Summary The Director, Health Economics & Payer Evidence will report directly to the Sr Dir, RWE and HEOR in Global Medical Affairs and will work closely with several departments including but not limited to Research and Development, Market Access, Global Marketing, Global Business Insights & Commercial Operations, Compliance, and external customers. They will be responsible for developing both US and global health economics and payer evidence strategies for commercialized and pipeline assets. They will work with the broader Pricing & Market Access teams to identify and assess payer evidence needs, define health economic strategies, and implement health economic tactics, including research studies, publication activities and field engagement with payers to support the Global and US needs. These efforts will include cross-functional coordination with the Market Access and Medical Affairs teams as well as vendors.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading the development of global and US health economics and payer evidence strategies in collaboration with regional Market Access teams, facilitating vendor contracts, and overseeing project budgets Promote payer requirements and incorporate evidence needs into product development strategies and/or Medical Affairs plans as appropriate for pipeline and commercialized assets Ensure effective budget planning to deliver payer evidence plan Ensure that the Global payer evidence plan is developed and/or validated at each investment decision with key internal and external stakeholders, meets the needs of key markets and respective payer archetypes, and is aligned with clinical, medical and brand strategies at the regional and global levels. Ensure needs for US are incorporated into the Global plan. Secure cross-functional input to the payer evidence plan, including real world evidence (RWE) and patient reported outcomes (PROs) for payer needs In collaboration with Market Access, provide payer relevant evidence requirements into the clinical development and Medical Affairs plans and support delivering those plans as well as cross-functional tracking and communication Deliver clear, customer-focused and robust evidence dossiers as needed (e.g, Evidence Dossiers, Global Value Dossiers) Engage with payers as needed to share health economic and outcome research data and gain insights on data gaps needed for any of the Aimmune products When needed, provide health economic and/or payer perspective to teams as needed (e.g., regulatory, life cycle team, etc.) Promote and lead the development of global health economic models and payer evidence materials to support regional Market Access needs and participate on the cross-functional Global Value Team (GVT) Conduct strategic and tactical planning of payer evidence (e.g., clinical trial design and analysis, economic modeling, evidence synthesis including indirect treatment comparisons) to support market access and reimbursement for Aimmune products In collaboration with Publications team, lead publication activities for health economics studies to support payer needs, via peer reviewed scientific publications Develop easy to understand, effective communication of complex HEOR concepts and data for use by internal and external stakeholders Collaborative partner for outsorced HEOR studies, including preparing proposal requests , vendor selection process, contracting, invoicing and project execution. Deliver assigned projects to time, budget, and quality, including the management of vendors as required Participate in external health economics and payer evidence activities via technical presentations, committee membership, publication reviews, and other similar activities as needed in partnership with Market Access. Attend external professional society meetings and conferences to gather insights and best-practices, and keep current with trends that may impact health economics and payer evidence. Actively monitor and apply new analytical techniques and payer evidence trends Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization, with high expectations and accountability on the quality and timing of deliverables. PharmD, PhD or MD with formal post graduate degree in health economics and/ or relevant experience 10
years relevant experience with increasing job responsibilities, in the pharmaceutical industry Solid understanding of global pharmaceutical markets, with strong expertise in the US and European markets Outstanding communication, presentation and influencing skills to a variety of audiences, including scientific, commercial and senior management Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within specified timelines, budgetary and quality standards Experience leading and influencing large cross-functional and international teams Excellent verbal and writing skills as well as excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills Ability to think strategically as well as execute tactically in previous roles Highly motivated and detail oriented High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point May require up to 20% travel based on business needs Work cross-functionally, as well as with compliance and legal departments, to ensure all training responsibilities, policies, and procedures are met Position will be individual contributor with ability to influence, direct, and manage cross-functional partners
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
